BLOCKCHAIN IMPACT: 2020 PERSPECTIVES “SUPPLY CHAIN”

About the event:

Over a hundred years ago, supply chains were relatively simple because commerce was local. Managing today’s supply chains and all the links of creating and distributing goods is extraordinarily complex.

Depending on the product, the supply chain can span over hundreds of stages, multiple geographical (international) locations, a multitude of invoices and payments, have several individuals and entities involved, and extend over months of time. Due to the complexity and lack of transparency of our current supply chains, there is a strong interest in how blockchain technology is transforming the supply chain and logistics industry.

Blockchain can be applied to many challenges of the supply chain industry such as complicated record keeping and tracking of products as a less corruptible and better-automated alternative to centralized databases. The real-time tracking of a product in a supply chain with the help of blockchain reduces the overall cost of moving items in a supply chain. Payments can be processed by buyers and suppliers within the supply chain by leveraging blockchain rather than customers and suppliers relying on EDI.

On the evening of January 22nd leading supply chain experts and blockchain thought leaders will sit together to explore the ways in which blockchain can increase efficiency, transparency, reduce costs and share the ways the technology is currently implemented in the supply chain of various industries.

CEO Mr Ethan Ng of leading exchange BiKi will share insights into the trends for crypto assets in 2020 and how supply chain tokens are evolving on BiKi. Moderator: Mr Herbert Sim, a.k.a. The Bitcoin Man, founder of Crypto Chain University – the world’s first repository for Blockchain & Crypto Research Papers, established since 2010. Herbert is also an angel investor and advisor to various companies. Herbert was former Global Operations Director at Huobi Global; Chief Marketing Officer at Cryptology; and contributor at Forbes & HuffingtonPost.

Panelist 1: Mr Robert Van Der Zalm Board / Finance Karuschain: Robert is a globally experienced executive with a strong financial and M&A background. He has served on multiple boards, audit and remuneration committees. Robert has a wide business experience, from Unilever to Shell to BHP to Noble Group, from Russia, Taiwan, Singapore, US to Thailand, from FMCG to Chemicals to Oil/Gas to Mining.

Panelist 2: Miss Daphne Ng Founder JEDTrade: Daphne is an experienced founder with a demonstrated history of working in the information technology and services industry. Skilled in Management, Leadership, Trading, Risk Management, and Strategic Planning. Strong business development professional graduated from National University of Singapore.

Panelist 3: Mr Loh Sin Yong Director, Trade Sectoral Transformation Group Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA): As the Director for Trade in IMDA, Sin Yong is responsible for transforming trade (Wholesale Trade, Trade Finance, and Logistics) sectors using ICM technologies to enhance the sectors’ competitiveness in the global market.

Panelist 4: Mr Jeremy H.K Goh Founder Food Chain: Jeremy is the founder of World Food Chain a global sourcing and resource platform to help F&B business owners solve their food procurement & operational challenges through direct access to food manufacturers and suppliers on their ecosystem aggregator.
